She has no tolerance for people in charge who are less sharp than she is. As long as you're respectful to Mary-Kate, she is respectful to you. Most people learn quickly that Mary-Kate has a sharp tongue and knows how to use it. Mary-Kate is a smart child and picks up on things quickly. However, she doesn't have social skills. It isn't unlike Mary-Kate to be too blunt about things. Due to her mind thinking constantly, Mary-Kate doesn't always think about what she says before she says it. Because of this, Mary-Kate doesn't make friends easily. When she does make a friend, however, Mary-Kate gets very overprotective of them. She doesn't keep friends for very long however. Mary-Kate and her sister are very close however. Like most demigods, Mary-Kate has ADHD and dyslexia. Also Mary-Kate prefers to be called "Kate" or any of it's variants, but she's most commonly called "Mary-Kate". She doesn't like to be called "Mary". Mary-Kate also has an immature personality that comes out when she's around someone that'll take care of her.
History: Mary-Kate has a twin sister- Riley. The girls were presented to their father as a gift from Athena. They grew up relatively happy. Mary-Kate always struggled with not being able to make friends. However, it never got her down. Her father always let her know how proud he was of her and her remarkable ability for problem solving. The monsters started attacking when Mary-Kate and Riley were about 9. A satyr came and took the girls to camp about that time, and their father requested they didn't return. As much as it pained Mary-Kate and Riley, they did not return. They were raised by Nicole, the former Athena Head Counselor, when they arrived at camp. Mary-Kate and Riley were promoted to Head Counselors after Nicole died during a freak accident on a quest. The sunrise was a great thing to think under, and the gods knew Mary-Kate needed time to think. All was quiet around her. It was if the whole world was holding it's breath for that tiny, tiny moment. Then Mary-Kate heard the familiar steps of her sister behind her. She turned to her sister with a forced smile. Riley gave her that familiar look that saw right through her. "Mary-Kate?", she asked softly, "What are you doing?". Mary-Kate turned her gaze back to the horizon. Her eyes were troubled, churning like storm clouds ready to break. "Thinking about Nicole. It's been a year since she... you know.". Riley stood next to her sister, throwing a nearly identical shadow on the ground. She put a comforting arm around her sister. "Hey, it's ok. I know what you mean. I miss her too. But right now, we have to get the cabin to the Arena. You don't wanna get beaten at Capture the Flag next time, do you?". Mary-Kate gave a soft smirk and shook her head and together the two raced back to the silvery cabin that had become their home.
